Chicago’s Lula Café—beloved for its farm-to-table menu and stylish yet approachable atmosphere—completed a major expansion in 2011. Nitewerk designed a brand refresh for the Logan Square restaurant, with a logo system that represents the restaurant’s dual identities: a casual daytime café and a destination for upscale nighttime dining. It pairs bold typefaces with graceful ones and contrasts neon drink menus with the chic, muted palette. During my internship, I contribute design to postcards, buttons, and menu in 2015.
